Nagpur's 29-Year-Old Man Forces Minor into Four Abortions; Faces Legal Action

Nagpur, India:  A 29-year-old man, Pawan Mahajan, from Saraswati Nagar, Sakkardara, is under investigation for allegedly exploiting a minor girl and forcing her to undergo four abortions.

According to police reports, the victim, who was born in March 2007, met Mahajan in 2019. He initially befriended her, promising marriage, and soon established a physical relationship. The situation escalated in April 2019 when Mahajan reportedly took the girl to a hotel near Bahadura Fata.

The minor became pregnant four times, and Mahajan forced her into an abortion. When the victim asked for marriage, Mahajan initially refused. To seek justice, she approached the Beltarodi police station to file a complaint.

However, Mahajan, accompanied by friends, intervened at the police station, convincing her not to proceed with the complaint by giving her the varmala to gain her trust. In May 2024, the couple was married, and Mahajan hosted a reception, further complicating the situation.

The case highlights the urgent need for protective measures for minors and raises questions about the enforcement of laws against exploitation and abuse. Authorities are continuing their investigation into the matter.
