NMC Imposes Fines Totaling Rs 66,300 for Public Nuisances
Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS) intensified its efforts to address public nuisances, filing 85 cases on Wednesday and collecting Rs 66,300 in fines from offenders. The reported violations included littering, illegal dumping, and the use of plastic bags that do not meet the required thickness standards.
18 cases involved unsanitary practices by vendors, leading to fines totaling Rs 7,200. Additionally, Vanbros Construction was fined Rs 15,000, while R R Associate and Alliant Infrastructures each faced fines of Rs 10,000 for the illegal dumping of construction materials. Further penalties were also issued for unauthorized advertising and the use of plastic bags by various businesses.
This operation was led by Veersen Tambe, the Chief of the Nuisance Detection Squad (NDS), and aimed at improving public cleanliness and order, demonstrating the city’s dedication to maintaining a cleaner environment. The investigation team will continue to monitor and enforce regulations to deter such nuisances in the future.
