Nagpur's Path to Becoming India's Next IT Hub: Gadkari's Vision
Nagpur is gearing up to be a major IT hub, and the Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, believes it's all thanks to the city's great facilities and skilled workforce. Speaking at the 'IT Conclave 2023,' organized by the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) at IIM-MIHAN, Gadkari underlined Nagpur's strong points for attracting IT companies: its friendly business environment, top-quality infrastructure, and excellent transportation links.
The conclave, themed 'Nagpur: The Next Frontier City for IT,' saw the participation of key figures like Deputy Chief Minister of Maharashtra, Devendra Fadnavis; Dr. Kishore Malviya, Chairman of CII Vidarbha Zonal Council; and representatives from companies like Infosys and Mastek.
Gadkari also revealed plans to improve transportation, including a new eight-lane road network and a modern bridge. He shared that e-taxis will soon be available in the MIHAN area to boost connectivity. Innovative ideas like a skybus service and an underground tunnel are also in the pipeline to make commuting easier.
Excitingly, Gadkari announced work on a new international airport with more runways to handle increased cargo. Fadnavis highlighted Nagpur's diverse strengths, labeling it not only the Tiger Capital but also the 'Education Capital of India,' home to many startups.
The event concluded on a positive note, emphasizing Nagpur's journey to becoming a thriving IT hub with fantastic infrastructure and a strong workforce.
