Mahal Violence: Nagpur’s VR Mall Shuts Down Following Curfew on March 19

Nagpur, India: VR Mall at Medical Square in Nagpur remained closed on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, after curfew was imposed in various parts of the city. The mall management decided to shut operations to ensure the safety of visitors and staff amid the ongoing restrictions enforced by Nagpur Police.
The closure was announced through an Instagram story by VR Nagpur, which read:
“Dear Customers, in light of the recent imposition of Section 144, VR Nagpur will remain closed today, March 19, 2025, to ensure the safety of our patrons and staff. We appreciate your understanding.”
The prohibitory orders issued by Nagpur Police under Section 163 are still in effect across multiple areas, including Ganeshpeth, Tehsil, Lakadganj, Pachpaoli, Shantinagar, Sakkardara, Nandanvan, Imamwada, Yashodharanagar, and Kapilnagar. These restrictions prohibit gatherings of more than five people until further notice.
Authorities have urged residents to remain calm and avoid spreading or believing in rumours. People are advised to stay alert and follow official updates to stay informed about the situation.
