Navi Mumbai International Airport is set to open on April 17

India: The much-awaited Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) is set to start functioning in stages from April 17, marking an important milestone for the city’s travel sector. Located in Ulwe, the airport will begin with Terminal 1 and a single runway.
The Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA), designed to ease overcrowding at Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport, is expected to handle 2-3 million passengers in its early months. Full commercial operations are scheduled to begin in May 2025, with flight operations increasing in October.
The new airport is expected to improve connectivity and make air travel smoother in the region, providing a much-needed alternative to Mumbai's current aviation infrastructure.
