Neeraj Chopra's First Competition in India since the Tokyo Olympics
As he prepares to defend his Tokyo Olympics title at the Paris Olympics, which will take place this year from July 26 to August 11, Neeraj Chopra will compete in India for the first time in a long time.
Neeraj will compete in the 27th National Federation Cup athletics competitions in Odisha, which will take place at Bhubaneswar's Kalinga Stadium from May 12 to May 15. Chopra hasn't participated in a domestic competition since the 2021 Federation Cup.
Prior to the Federation Cup, on May 10, the Doha Diamond League meet will feature the champions of the World Championships, Asian Games, and Commonwealth Games. Neeraj and fellow countryman Kishore Jena will compete in the men's javelin throw event in Doha.
Neeraj said, "I have won medals in two World Championships, threw my personal best (89.94 meters at Stockholm), won a dream Diamond League title, and even defended my gold at the Asian Games."
He was speaking about how his performance in Tokyo showed that his preparation for international competitions was going well. Overall, I've been in a terrific place, and I want to keep moving forward starting in May.
