New Modern Fire Station to Be Built at Ganjipeth, Says NMC

Nagpur, India: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) has planned to build a modern fire station at the site of the old Ganjipeth fire station, which has been serving the city since 1927.
NMC Commissioner Dr Abhijeet Chaudhari visited the fire station on Tuesday, accompanied by Additional Municipal Commissioner Ajay Charthankar, Deputy Commissioners Ashok Garate and Ganesh Rathod, Superintending Engineer Manoj Talewar, and Chief Fire Officer BP Chandankhede. During the visit, he directed officials to prepare a proposal for the construction of the new facility.
The new fire station will be a single-storey structure with parking space for four fire tenders and other emergency vehicles. It will continue to serve densely populated areas like Mahal, Gandhi bagh, Mominpura, and nearby localities.
The redevelopment aims to enhance firefighting capabilities and improve emergency response in the city.
