Nisar Tamboli Appointed New Joint Commissioner of Police in Nagpur
Nisar Tamboli, an Indian Police Service (IPS) officer from the 2005 batch, has been appointed as the new Joint Commissioner of Police (Jt CP) for Nagpur. Tamboli, who is honored with the President’s Medal for his exceptional service, brings extensive experience to his new role.
Tamboli has served in various key positions across Maharashtra, including Deputy Inspector General (DIG) and Chief Vigilance Officer at CIDCO, Mumbai. Most recently, he was the Joint Commissioner of the State Intelligence Department (SID) in Mumbai. He succeeds Aswati Dorje, who has been transferred to Mumbai as the Special Inspector General of Police (IGP) for the Protection of Civil Rights.
Tamboli’s appointment is expected to enhance law enforcement in Nagpur, as he takes on this significant role.
In other transfers, Lohit Matani, formerly SP of Bhandara, has been moved to Mumbai as Assistant IGP (Law & Order). Noorul Hasan, previously SP of Wardha, will now serve as SP of Bhandara. Additionally, Nilesh Tambe, formerly Additional SP of Nandurbar, has been appointed as Principal of the Police Training School in Nagpur.
