NMC Commissioner Leads Collective Preamble Reading Ceremony
Nagpur, India: The Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) marked Constitution Day with a collective reading of the Indian Constitution's Preamble at the NMC headquarters on Tuesday. The event saw NMC Commissioner and Administrator, Dr. Abhijit Chaudhary, paying tribute to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, the architect of the Indian Constitution, by offering floral tributes at his statue.
Dr. Chaudhary began the ceremony by emphasizing the importance of Constitution Day and its values. He also announced that various programs would be organized by the NMC to spread the principles of the Constitution to a wider audience. The entire NMC staff participated in the collective reading of the Preamble, marking the occasion.
The ceremony was attended by NMC's Additional Commissioner Mr. Ajay Charthanakar, Deputy Commissioners Mrs. Vijaya Bankar, and Mr. Prakash Varade, along with other senior officials such as Chief Engineer Leena Upadhye, Transport Manager Vinod Jadhav, and Medical Health Officer Dr. Deepak Selokar, among many others. NMC’s senior citizen group members, including Mr. Suresh Revatkar, Mr. Dattatray Walkanar, and Mr. Pradeep Sapkal, were also present.
In addition to the event at the headquarters, Constitution Day was also celebrated in NMC schools, including at the Lal Bahadur Shastri and Hanuman Nagar schools. Students, teachers, and staff offered floral tributes to Dr. Ambedkar’s statue and participated in a collective reading of the Preamble. The day was celebrated with enthusiasm at all ten NMC zone offices as well.
