NMC Health Supervisor Suspended After Arrest for Drug Possession
Nagpur, India: Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) Municipal Commissioner Dr. Abhijeet Chaudhari has suspended Kapil Khobragade, a supervisor in the Health Department, following his arrest by the Crime Branch for possession of MD drugs.
The suspension was officially announced by the Additional Municipal Commissioner (City), citing the criminal charges filed against Khobragade.
The suspension is effective from August 21, 2024, the date of Khobragade's arrest. He was employed at the Nehru Nagar Zone as a Senior Section Employee in the Health Department.
This is not Khobragade's first run-in with the law; he was previously arrested on charges related to drug peddling. During his suspension, Khobragade is required to report to the Health Officer (Medical) at the NMC Administrative Office in Civil Lines.
