NMC intends to eliminate pollution in the Pohra River

The historical Pohra River in Nagpur is set to undergo a makeover according to a call for tenders issued by Nagpur Municipal Corporation. The Central and State governments are providing financial support for the Rs 810 crore project. Two years are anticipated to pass before the project is finished.

The Municipal Commissioner and Administrator, Dr. Abhijit Chaudhari, is overseeing the implementation of Nagpur's river cleanup campaign. NMC is carrying out a sewage water treatment project for the South Sewerage Zone and Narsala, as well as pollution removal of the Pohra River, under the Central Government-sponsored Amrit-2.0 plan.

Five packages have been created out of the project: The project cost, including the pumping station, wet well, and 45 million liter sewage water treatment plant, is Rs 109.29 crore. Sub-zone 1 of Sewarage: Rs. 175.40 crore. 3) Rs 254.53 crore for Sewerage Zones 2 and 3. 4) Sewarage Zone 4: Rs 115.50 crore; 5) Hudkeshwar and Narsala: Rs 155.46 crore  25% of funds from the federal government, 25% from state governments, and 50% from NMC
