Nagpur, India: To manage large crowds during the Holi festival, Central Railway has temporarily stopped the sale of platform tickets at some railway stations. This decision has been taken to ensure smooth movement and safety of passengers.
The restriction will be in place from March 8 to March 16, 2025. In the Nagpur Division, Nagpur Railway Station is affected by this rule.
While platform tickets are generally not available during this period, some people will still be allowed to buy them. These include senior citizens, passengers who are unwell, children, illiterate passengers, and women who need assistance.
Every year, Holi brings a large number of travellers to railway stations, making it difficult to manage crowds. By stopping platform ticket sales, the railway authorities hope to reduce unnecessary gatherings and make travel easier for passengers.
Railway officials have requested passengers to cooperate and avoid overcrowding at stations. These measures are being taken to ensure a smooth and safe travel experience for everyone during the festive season.
