Ongoing Road Work at Maharajbagh Turns into Daily Struggle for Commute

Nagpur, India: The concretisation of the road from Maharajbagh Square to the University Library has become a major cause of inconvenience for citizens, with incomplete work leading to severe traffic snarls and daily disruption.
Currently, only one side of the road has been paved with cement, while the other remains under construction. As a result, the unfinished stretch has been closed off, forcing all traffic to pass through a single lane. This has significantly narrowed the road, causing long traffic jams, especially during peak hours.
Construction materials, cement pipes, and heavy machinery, including a concrete mixer, are scattered along the route. The frequent movement of the mixer to pour concrete further hampers traffic flow. Around midday, traffic came to a standstill as the mixer had no space to pass due to the already congested road.
Adding to the chaos, excavation work has started on the remaining part of the road even before the first section is fully completed. Commuters have raised concerns about the poor planning and management of the project, urging authorities to accelerate the work and implement better traffic control measures.
What was meant to improve the road infrastructure has now become a daily struggle for citizens navigating this busy stretch.
