Pachpaoli Police Arrest Vehicle Theft Suspect, Recover Scooters Worth ₹1.60 Lakh
Nagpur, India: In a significant breakthrough, Pachpaoli Police have arrested an individual accused of stealing a scooter and recovered stolen vehicles worth ₹1.60 lakh. The arrest followed a complaint by Harpalsingh Rawalsingh Gurutta, a 54-year-old resident of Gurukrupa Apartment, Pachpaoli.
On September 9, 2024, Gurutta reported that his silver-coloured Activa scooter (MH-49 S 0050), valued at approximately ₹20,000, was stolen. The scooter had been parked and locked near Guru Nanak Bhavan, Ashok Chowk, Ram Manohar Lohia Library in Pachpaoli.
Following the complaint, the Pachpaoli Police registered a case under Section 379 of the Indian Penal Code. Acting on reliable information and technical leads, the police apprehended the accused, Pintusingh Charanjitsingh Rajput (45), a resident of Sant Niwas, Guru Nanakpura, Pachpaoli.
During interrogation, Rajput confessed to the theft and led the police to recover the stolen Activa and another Honda Activa (MH-49 L 1482), collectively worth ₹1.60 lakh. The accused has been taken into custody, and the investigation is ongoing.
The operation was carried out under the supervision of Deputy Commissioner of Police (Zone 3) Mahak Swami and Assistant Commissioner of Police Shweta Khade. The successful recovery and arrest were made possible through the efforts of Senior PI Baburao Raut, PI Harish Kalsekar, PSI Pravin Somvanshi, and their team.
