Parents and Students Protested Against Fiit Jee Coaching Institute Nagpur
Nagpur, India- Hundreds of parents and students protested outside a private coaching institute "Fiit Jee" on West High Court Road, near Law College Square, disrupting traffic for nearly two hours on Sunday afternoon. The protest was from teachers leaving the institute, the reason being not providing the payment, which hampered the students' preparation for competitive exams.
Parents, who had paid full fees in advance, claimed that this issue had persisted for months, affecting their children's studies. The situation escalated to the point where police had to intervene to control the crowd of parents protected in the middle of the road.
The media tried to contact institute officials, however, they went unanswered. Senior PI of Ambazari police station Vinayak Golhe reported that parents had filed a written complaint. "We called the institute's director, who promised in writing to resolve the issue within three days," said PI Golhe.
Parent Abhay Rajgire expressed frustration, stating, "This issue has been ongoing for the past 4-5 months. Previously, everything worked smoothly, but the concern was when lectures became irregular as teachers left the institute. We have learned that the institution has not been distributing teachers’ salaries, which has led to resignations. Initially, officials assured us they would address the matter, but it worsened the situation, prompting parents to take action and protest against the Fiit JEE".
Parents also informed the media that students were given nearly two weeks of holidays starting around May 20 to train new teachers.
