Pench Tiger Reserve launches hot air balloon rides and paramotoring
The addition of paramotoring and hot air balloon excursions to the tiger reserve at Kolitmara in West Pench has given visitors more activities to enjoy. According to reports, a hot air balloon flight costs $1,5000, while paramotoring costs $2,000. On November 8, 2023, the adventure sports project in the Pench Tiger Reserve (PTR) buffer zone in Maharashtra was approved by the local advisory council, which is headed by Vijayalakshmi Bidari, the divisional commissioner of Nagpur.
In Kolitmara, paramotoring and hot air balloon tourism made their debuts on Friday. In its buffer zone, Pench is arguably the first tiger reserve in the nation to provide this kind of adventure tourism. In east Pench, the Pench River separates Kolitmara from Sillari. The main reason tourists go to Sillari is to see tigers; they tend to overlook Kolitmara, which has beautiful scenery and a natural beauty. According to Prabhu Nath Shukla, deputy director of Pench, "tourists can now enjoy the beauty of the open blue sky and surroundings via paramotoring, hot air balloon."
