Platform Ticket Sales Suspended at Nagpur Station Due to Festive Crowd
Nagpur, India: As the festive season peaks, railway stations and trains are experiencing a surge in passengers. Crowds are gathering at stations as people travel to their hometowns for Diwali and Chhath Puja, resulting in congested platforms and near-stampede conditions at Mumbai Station.
To improve passenger safety and manage crowd control, the Central Railway administration has temporarily halted the sale of platform tickets at Nagpur Railway Station, effective immediately. Consequently, passengers must now say goodbye to their relatives or friends outside the station entrance.
This restriction will remain in place until November 8, and platform tickets will not be sold at the ticket counters of both the Western and Eastern Gate Complexes of Nagpur Station. However, exceptions have been made for senior citizens and passengers with medical needs, allowing their relatives or acquaintances to accompany them to the train by purchasing platform tickets specifically for this purpose, ensuring a smoother journey for these individuals despite the restrictions.
