PM Modi Set to Inaugurate Six New AIIMS Institutions Across India
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to embark on a significant healthcare initiative, with plans to inaugurate six new AIIMS institutions over the next six days. These include Samba, Jammu and Kashmir establishments, and Rae Bareli, Uttar Pradesh, among others. The AIIMS in Samba, which Mr. Modi will dedicate to the nation on February 20 in Jammu, is a part of the Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana, with its foundation laid by the Prime Minister himself in February 2019.
Spanning over 227 acres and costing more than ₹1,660 crore, the AIIMS in Samba boasts 720 beds, a medical college with 125 seats, a nursing college with 60 seats, an AYUSH block with 30 beds, as well as residential and hostel accommodations. Additionally, PM Modi will inaugurate various medical and nursing colleges across the nation, while laying the groundwork for numerous new medical colleges and advanced health facilities under the PM-Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission. This comprehensive initiative also encompasses the inauguration of advanced research labs and facilities and the launch of food safety infrastructure projects in multiple states.
These endeavours, amounting to a total cost of ₹11,391.79 crore, are poised to revolutionize India's healthcare landscape, bringing about significant advancements and ensuring the well-being of millions.
