PM Modi to Virtually Inaugurate 1,000 Skill Development Centers Across Maharashtra
Nagpur, India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate 1,000 Acharya Chanakya Skill Development Centers across Maharashtra on September 20, 2024, through a virtual event from Wardha. These centres aim to equip the youth with enhanced skills and better employment opportunities. Out of the total, 47 centers will be set up in both rural and urban parts of Nagpur district.
The inauguration will be held at the Swavalambi School campus in Wardha. PM Modi will also interact with beneficiaries of the Vishwakarma Skill Development Scheme, providing guidance on its benefits. This initiative is part of Maharashtra's plan to establish skill development centers in prominent colleges, under the Department of Skills, Employment, Entrepreneurship, and Innovation.
These centres are designed to promote skill-based learning, aligned with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020, which emphasizes vocational education. The aim is to create an encouraging environment for skill development and open new opportunities for young men and women in colleges.
In addition to the launch of these centres, the event will also introduce the Punyashlok Ahilyadevi Holkar Women Startup Scheme, honoring successful women entrepreneurs. District Collector Dr. Vipin Itankar has urged students from the participating colleges to join the ceremony and take full advantage of the opportunities offered through this initiative.
