PM Modi to Virtually Launch Upgradation of Nagpur, Amravati, and Shirdi Airports
Nagpur, India: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will perform the bhoomipujan for the modernization of Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar International Airport in Nagpur. The ceremony will be held virtually at 12 noon on Wednesday.
The project aims to improve the airport’s infrastructure, making it a key aviation hub in Central India. This will help boost regional connectivity and support the country's growing economy.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, along with local MLAs, MLCs, and officials from the Maharashtra Airport Development Company (MADC), will attend the event.
GMR Airports Limited (GAL) will lead the modernization of the Nagpur airport. The project will be done in phases and involve collaboration between the Airport Authority of India (AAI), MADC, and GMR.
PM Modi will also inaugurate the new terminal buildings at Amravati and Shirdi airports as part of the government’s plan to improve India's aviation infrastructure.
