PM Modi to Visit Nagpur on Sunday, Know the Changes in Route and Plans

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to visit Nagpur on Sunday to perform the bhoomipujan of the Premium Centre at Madhav Netralaya. The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagpur unit is gearing up to welcome him, but the security team has introduced changes to his route, affecting earlier plans.

Due to security concerns, several squares along the route have been declared “no-man’s land,” restricting public movement and limiting the number of locations where party workers can greet the Prime Minister. Sandip Joshi, the reception committee in-charge and newly-elected Member of the Legislative Council (MLC), mentioned that BJP had initially planned to greet Modi at 47 squares. However, with 19 squares now restricted, greetings will be possible at only 28 squares.

A slight change has also been made to the Prime Minister’s route. Initially, different routes were planned for his journey to and from Reshimbag Smruti Mandir and Deekshabhoomi, but now he will follow the same route for both journeys.

This visit is significant as it marks Prime Minister Modi’s first visit to Nagpur after assuming office for the third consecutive term. It is also his third visit to the Smruti Mandir of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), which holds added importance as RSS celebrates its centenary year.

During his visit, Modi will also pay respects to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar at Deekshabhoomi, adding a symbolic and historical dimension to the occasion. Despite the security restrictions, BJP workers and local leaders are eager to give him a grand welcome.
