Police Bust Fake Mosquito Repellent Racket, ₹23,000 Worth Goods Seized

Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch has arrested three men for selling fake mosquito repellent under popular brand names in different areas of the city.

The accused are Nikhil Khanchandani (25), Suraj Anandwani (22), and Pradeep Dholwani (43), all residents of Jaripatka.

Police received information that counterfeit mosquito repellents were being sold in grocery shops in Lakadganj, Jaripatka, Pachpaoli, and Ganeshpeth. Acting on the tip-off, officers raided Jawahar Kirana Stores near Janata Hospital and caught the three men selling fake liquid repellent.

Further investigation led to the seizure of fake mosquito repellent products worth ₹23,000 from other shops, including Waheguru Traders, Hemant Kirana, and Jaiswal Kirana Stores.

A case has been registered under Section 318 of the Indian Penal Code and Section 63 of the Copyright Act. The accused have been handed over to Jaripatka Police for further investigation.
