Police Held Man in Kalamna for Illegal LPG Refilling and Black Market
Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch's Unit-5 busted an illegal LPG refilling center in the Kalamna area on Monday evening, arresting a man involved in the unlawful refilling and black-market sale of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG). The accused, Preetpalsingh alias Preet Gurcharansingh Bagal, 28, was apprehended while illegally transferring LPG from domestic cylinders to commercial ones.
The raid was carried out based on a tip-off received by the Unit-5 team. Officers arrived at Bagal's residence at House No. 1044, Lane No. 4, Mini Mata Nagar, around 5:30 p.m. and caught him in the act.
Inside the house, a large stock of both domestic and commercial LPG cylinders was discovered. A total of 59 cylinders, both filled and empty, were seized. In addition to the cylinders, a Tata Ace delivery vehicle and a refilling machine were confiscated, with the total value of the seized items estimated at Rs 3.11 lakh.
The raid was supervised by DCP (Detection) Rahul Maknikar and ACP (Crime) Dr. Abhijeet Patil, with PI Rahul Shire, PSI Rahul Rote, and their team playing key roles in the operation. Bagal has been taken into custody, and a case has been filed against him under Section 285 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, along with Sections 3 and 7 of the Essential Commodities Act, at Kalamna Police Station.
