Nagpur Police Seize MD Powder Worth ₹2.15 Lakh, One Arrested in Lakadganj

Nagpur, India: The Crime Branch Unit 3 arrested a drug peddler with MD powder near Harish Kirana Stores in Old Bagadganj, Lakadganj, on Tuesday night, 11th February.

Acting on a tip-off, police set a trap and stopped a man riding an Access scooter (MH40-CV-2151). The suspect identified himself as Abhishek alias Dadu Motilal Rajne (27), a resident of Ambedkar Chowk, Nandanvan Slums.

During the search, officers found 30 grams of MD powder, a mobile phone, and a scooter, worth a total of ₹2,15,000. Rajne later revealed that he was working with another man, Sarang Suresh Ughade from Gadikhana, Colonel Bagh, Ganeshpeth. The two planned to sell the drugs for profit.

Police have registered a case under the NDPS Act and taken Rajne into custody. Investigations are still ongoing.

The operation was led by senior police officers, including Police Commissioner Ravinder Kumar Singal, Joint Commissioner Nisar Tamboli, and Additional Commissioner (Crime) Sanjay Patil. The team included PI Mukund Thakre, API Navnath Devkate, and several other officers.

Police continue to take strong action against drug crimes in Nagpur.
