Police Investigate Threats to Nitin Gadkari
The Nagpur police are conducting an investigation into a series of threatening calls made to Union Transport Minister Nitin Gadkari. They have identified a suspect, Shreyas alias Tejesh Poojari, who is currently being held in Belgaum jail on extortion charges. The suspect has denied any involvement in the case.
As part of their investigation, the police have examined the Call Detail Record (CDR) of the mobile phone number used to make the threatening calls. The CDR revealed that the suspect had contacted four individuals both before and after calling Gadkari's office. In order to establish the suspect's involvement in the case, the Nagpur police have decided to record the statements of these four individuals under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure.
Recording statements under Section 164 of the Code of Criminal Procedure is a legal process in which a person's statement is recorded in front of a Magistrate. This is done to ensure that the statement is given voluntarily and without any coercion or pressure. The statement is then used as evidence in the case.
By recording the statements of these four individuals, the Nagpur police hope to gather further information about the suspect's actions and establish his involvement in the case. The investigation is ongoing and the police are working to gather all the necessary evidence to build a strong case against the suspect.
