Prakash Padukone will attend the Olympics in Paris

Commencing on July 26, the renowned Prakash Padukone will journey as a mentor alongside the 15-member Indian badminton team competing in the Paris Olympics.

Even before badminton was added to the Olympic program for the 1992 Barcelona Games, Padukone, the first Indian to win the All England Championship, announced his retirement in 1991.

Lakshya Sen attended the Prakash Padukone Badminton Academy (PPBA), but Sindhu, who moved to Bengaluru from Hyderabad, declared Padukone to be her instructor prior to the Paris Games. She's getting ready for her third Olympics.

The Indian shuttlers hope to add more medals to their collection in Paris, building on the two silver and two bronze they have earned during the last three competitions. The badminton competitions in Paris are scheduled to start on July 27 and end on August 5.
