Prostitution Racket Exposed by SSB in Saloonwala Unisex Saloon, Hiwari
Nagpur, India- The Social Security Branch (SSB) of the city police busted a prostitution racket at Saloonwala Unisex Saloon and Academy in Honey Indra Complex, Hiwari Nagar, Lakadganj, early Wednesday morning. They rescued four young women.
The police arrested Preeti Shubham Shende, from Plot No. 86, Shastri Nagar, who was running the racket. She had convinced the four women from poor families to join the sex trade.
Acting on a tip-off, the police sent an undercover customer to the salon. Shende accepted money from him and provided a young woman in a private room. After confirming the illegal activity, the undercover officer signalled the SSB team, who then raided the salon and arrested Shende. The police seized Rs 89,930 from the salon.
A case has been filed against Preeti Shende under Section 370 of the Indian Penal Code and Sections 4, 5, and 77 of the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
The raid was conducted by PI Kavita Isarkar, ASI Lata Gawai, HC Sachin Badhiye, HC Prakash Mathankar, HC Laxman Chawre, and PC Aarti Chauhan.
