Public Urged to Celebrate Responsibly as Nagpur Police Begin Nakabandi Drive
Nagpur, India: As New Year celebrations approach, Nagpur Police have started a citywide nakabandi drive to ensure public safety and accident prevention. The drive began on Monday at 4:30 p.m., with Commissioner of Police Dr. Ravinder Singal announcing strict measures to maintain order and safety.
The operation's focus is to prevent drunk driving. Police teams have been stationed at key points across the city with breath analyzers to identify offenders. Dr. Singal also warned clubs and bars against serving alcohol to minors or operating without proper licenses, promising strict action against violations.
To bolster enforcement, special flying squads have been deployed throughout Nagpur. “Our priority is to ensure a safe and accident-free New Year for everyone,” said Dr. Singal.
Nagpur Police have urged citizens to celebrate responsibly and cooperate with officers during the nakabandi drive, which is part of their efforts to create a secure environment as the city prepares to welcome 2024.
