Pune: 27-Year-Old Woman, 37-Year-Old Man Die of Suspected GBS

Two more people have died from suspected Guillain-Barre Syndrome (GBS) in Pune, bringing the total death toll to 11, officials confirmed on Wednesday.
The victims were a 27-year-old woman and a 37-year-old man. The woman, who was diagnosed with GBS, passed away in a Pune hospital on Tuesday. The man, from Daund in Pune district, died at Sassoon General Hospital on Monday due to suspected GBS.
The woman was from Nandedgaon, the area most affected by the outbreak. She initially had loose motions on January 15 but recovered without medication. However, on January 22, she developed weakness in her legs and was admitted to the hospital. She was later put on life support but did not survive.
The 37-year-old man had been admitted to Sassoon General Hospital on January 10. He died due to acute respiratory failure linked to suspected GBS.
Meanwhile, officials confirmed that no new cases were reported on Wednesday, keeping the total number of cases at 211.
