Raid on Two Hookah Parlors Unveils Illegal Activities in Nagpur's Gokulpeth Area

The Crime Branch's Unit-2 conducted a raid on Friday night at two hookah parlors, causing a stir for a while. Cases have been registered against the owners and managers of the hookah parlors in Ambazari and sitabuldi police stations. During the raid, hookah materials were seized. A total of 27 hookah pots and various flavored tobacco packets were confiscated during the raids on the hookah parlors, including the WTFCafe & Lounge and Shosha Cafe Lounge, both in Gokulpeth and Dharampeth.

Between Friday and Saturday night, the Crime Branch received confidential information that a hookah parlor was operating within the premises of a cafe in Gokulpeth. Customers were being offered tobacco of various flavors with addictive substances, not limited to young individuals from respectable families but also involving elements of criminal activity. The situation was deemed serious, and the area was cordoned off before carrying out the raid. The raid resulted in the seizure of incriminating evidence.

Yashkumar Ashokkumar Chhatari, aged 27, resident of New Galaxy Apartment, Gokul Society, and Saurabh Ravindra Baxre, aged 25, resident of Nai Mangalwari, Sadar, were both booked for possession of three hookah pots, three smoking pipes, and packets of various flavored tobacco, while Pritam Yadav, manager of Shosha Hookah Parlor, and Durgesh Dilip Bhavasagar, aged 20, resident of Manavta Nagar, Gittikhadan, along with Karan Gopalrao Devkatte, had 24 hookah pots seized from their possession. Both cases have been filed under the Kotwari section.
