Ramtek: Authorities Seize 8 Trucks, Fine of ₹26 Lakh Imposed
Ramtek, India: In a major action against illegal sand smuggling, the Ramtek sub-divisional officer and Deolapar police seized eight trucks involved in transporting sand illegally. The authorities have imposed a fine of ₹26 lakh on the seized vehicles.
The crackdown was launched after officials received a secret tip-off about large-scale sand smuggling in the region. Acting on the information, two teams from the Revenue Department were formed, which successfully intercepted and seized the trucks. All the seized vehicles have been taken to the Ramtek Tehsil Office for further legal action.
Officials from the Revenue Department are conducting a detailed investigation into the case. This strict action has created panic among sand smugglers, and authorities have warned that similar operations will continue in the future to curb illegal activities.
