Ranbir Kapoor Draws Inspiration from Late Father Rishi Kapoor for Fierce Role in Animal
At the trailer launch of the upcoming action thriller film "Animal," Ranbir Kapoor shared insights into the inspiration behind his intense character, revealing that it was reminiscent of his late father Rishi Kapoor. Ranbir disclosed that he used Rishi Kapoor as a reference to portray the relentless titular role in Sandeep Reddy Vanga's movie.
During the trailer launch event in New Delhi, Ranbir expressed his thoughts, stating, "Whenever I met Sandeep Reddy Vanga, I always told him to give me a reference. I have never heard or felt like this. I think eventually subconsciously, I thought of my father, the way he used to speak; he was a very passionate and aggressive man."
Despite acknowledging that he and Rishi Kapoor did not share the closest of bonds, Ranbir highlighted the impact of his father's persona on his portrayal of the character. The trailer unveils Ranbir in a fierce and obsessive avatar, suggesting that his character's intense demeanor is shaped by a tumultuous upbringing. The storyline hints at his protective and obsessive love for his father, with Ranbir's character threatening anyone who stands in the way of that love.
The star-studded cast, including Ranbir Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna, and Bobby Deol, alongside producer Bhushan Kumar and director Sandeep Reddy Vanga, attended the trailer launch in Delhi, all dressed in coordinated black outfits.
Directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, "Animal" also features Anil Kapoor in a pivotal role, exploring the dynamics of a father-son relationship. Rashmika Mandanna plays Ranbir's love interest, while Bobby Deol portrays the antagonist with a stylish and menacing presence in the trailer.
Scheduled for release on December 1, "Animal" will be presented in five languages – Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. The film is set to clash with Vicky Kaushal's "Sam Bahadur" at the Bollywood box office.
