Rang Jewellery Brand Accuses Avneet Kaur of Breaching Promotional Contract

Avneet Kaur is facing allegations from an Indian jewellery brand, Rang, for not honoring a promotional agreement. The brand claims that Kaur wore their jewellery during her recent trip to Europe but did not give them the promised credit on her social media accounts.

According to Rang, Kaur received nine pieces of jewellery, including floral earrings and a twisted loop handcuff bracelet, with the understanding that she would tag the brand in her social media posts. However, Rang alleges that Kaur only mentioned luxury brands like Dior and Vivienne Westwood, suggesting her accessories were from those high-end labels.

When Rang reached out to Kaur through her stylist about not tagging their brand, Kaur initially offered to pay for the jewellery. However, after receiving an invoice, she reportedly refused to pay, claiming it was a collaboration and that she hadn’t worn the jewellery more than ten times. She insisted on posting just an Instagram story instead.

Akanksha Negi from Rang expressed frustration over the incident, saying, "This experience with an influencer was terrible. Small brands like ours often face exploitation by celebrities and influencers who think they can take advantage of us because of their large followings. We won’t accept this behavior."

After Rang shared their experience, Mittal Brahmbhatt, owner of the clothing brand The Closet, reported a similar issue with Kaur. She claimed Kaur received clothing from The Closet with a verbal agreement to post photos wearing the outfits, but she did not do so for months. When Kaur finally posted, the collection was out of stock, and the promotion had little impact.

Avneet Kaur and her team have not responded to requests for comment. However, her stylist mentioned that Kaur has been unresponsive to communications about settling the payments.
