Ridhima Pathak & Brother Charged with Fraud Against Australian Company
Ridhima Pathak, an actress, and her brother Ishan Pathak, both directors of Pune-based Reswitch Technologies, have been charged by the Cyber Police for allegedly defrauding an Australian company. The accusations involve claims of overbilling and breaching contractual terms, leading to a termination agreement. Allegedly, after disputes over payments, the siblings orchestrated a hack on the complainant company’s payment gateway, resulting in unauthorized refunds to subscribers.
Initial complaints to Cyber Police were ignored until the Australian company moved to the JMF court in Nagpur. The court issued directives for FIR registration. Advocates Ishant Tambi, Shraddha Tambi, and Rajesh Manmode represented the complainant during court proceedings. The charges filed against Ridhima and Ishan include violations under IPC sections 406 (criminal breach of trust), 420 (cheating), and 467 (forgery of valuable security), along with Section 67 of the IT Act. The financial impact is reported to be $AUD 15,237.
