Ritika Thaker, of Nagpur, shines by winning in the Inter-State Team Badminton Championships
In Indore, Madhya Pradesh, on Wednesday, city shuttlers Ritika Thaker, Rohan Gurbani, Simran Singhi, and Nikkita Joseph performed effectively as a team to help Maharashtra win the West Zone Inter-State Team badminton championships.
Five city shuttlers, representing the men's, women's, and U-19 boys and girls teams of Maharashtra, participated in the Badminton Association of India (BAI) zonal event. Nikkita earned two medals in the two-day competition. Ritika, Rohan, and Simran also took home gold in the women's and men's categories.
After winning both of the doubles, Maharashtra left no room for the Gujarat women's team to win and won the match 3-2. Young Boys and Girls from Maharashtra added seven stars to the State during the entire competition.
