Robbery Foiled: Nagpur Police Arrest Two Suspects, Recover Stolen Item

In a swift operation, the Nagpur police apprehended two suspects accused of robbing a middle-aged woman in the Pachpaoli area. The authorities successfully recovered the stolen cash, phones, and ATM card, along with seizing the motorcycle used in the commission of the crime.

The arrested individuals, identified as Nivrutti Chandankhede (30) and Ashwin Vamanrao Mahure (36), both residents of Lane No. 11, New Indora, were apprehended following an incident involving Alka Surendra Sangole (42), a resident of Siddharth Nagar, Teka.

On November 17, Alka Surendra Sangole was returning home from the lane behind Gamdoor Restaurant when the accused duo approached her on a Splendor motorcycle (MH-31/SR-5583) and snatched her handbag. The stolen items included Rs 700 cash, two cellphones, Aadhaar card, ATM card, bank passbooks, and other valuables collectively worth Rs 30,000.

Upon receiving a complaint from the victim, a case under Section 392 and 34 of the Indian Penal Code was registered, prompting the swift action of the police.

A team from Unit-03 of the Crime Branch, comprising PI Mukund Thakre, AP Samadhan Bajbalkar, PSI Madhukar Kathoke, ASI Satish Pande, ASI Dashrath Mishra, and others, successfully nabbed the accused duo, Aakash and Ashwin.

While the stolen items have been recovered and the suspects apprehended, investigations are ongoing to determine the extent of their involvement in similar criminal activities. The Nagpur police remain vigilant in their efforts to maintain public safety and combat crime in the city.
