Rs 5.36 Lakh Robbery in Broad Daylight Outside a Bank

Nagpur, India: A robbery occurred in broad daylight at Tapasya Chowk on Manewada Ring Road, where two unidentified criminals stole Rs 5.36 lakh from petrol pump employees who were on their way to deposit the money at a bank. The incident has caused a stir in the area, and the police are actively investigating, using CCTV footage to track down the suspects.

According to reports, Ravindrakumar Kalicharan Verma, a resident of Udaynagar, informed the police that he works as a manager at the HP Petrol Pump near the Dighori toll post on Umred Road. Every day, the pump's daily earnings are deposited at the ICICI Bank located at Tapasya Chowk. However, since the bank was closed on February 26 for the Mahashivratri holiday, Verma, along with his colleague Shekhar Sontakke, went to the bank on February 27 on a two-wheeler to deposit the dues from the past two days.

At 2:30 pm, as soon as they arrived in front of the bank, Shekhar stopped the bike, and Verma began to get off with the bag. At that moment, a young man came from behind and tried to snatch the bag from his hand. Verma held the bag tightly, causing him to lose his balance and fall. In the meantime, the thief grabbed the bag and fled on the bike of his accomplice, who was waiting nearby.

Verma and Shekhar attempted to pursue the thieves, but the criminals fled at high speed. They quickly notified the bank staff and their manager about the incident. Upon receiving the information, the police team arrived at the scene and conducted an investigation.

Both suspects have been captured in the CCTV footage of the incident, but they were wearing helmets, which is making identification difficult. The police have not yet been able to trace the number of their bike. In the preliminary investigation, this is believed to be a targeted crime. However, the police suspect that the incident may have been carried out by a professional gang from South India.
