RTMNU planned a multistory indoor stadium at Ravi Nagar sports ground

At the sports arena of Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University, at Ravi Bhavan, a multi-story indoor multipurpose stadium that is the first of its kind in Maharashtra is set to be developed. Using a PowerPoint presentation, RTMNU Vice-Chancellor Dr. Subhash Chaudhari examined the plan.

The indoor stadium is being built to commemorate the university's centennial. The institution has received Rs 100 crore from the Maharashtra government, of which Rs 44 crore would go toward the stadium. The first deposit of Rs 20 crore has been received, and it is anticipated that soon building work would start.

The stadium planner has been named as architect Anand Sarda. The technical committee comprises of the following individuals: Dr. Sharad Suryavanshi, the Director of Sports and Physical Education at the University; Dr. Dhananjay Welukar, the Chairman of the Board of Studies of Physical Education and Sports; Vijay Muneshwar, the recipient of the Arjun and Dronacharya awards; Ar Sarda, the Deputy Engineer; Atul Gote, the Executive Engineer of PWD Varsha Ghuse; University Engineer Nitin Vishwakar; and Deputy Engineer Mahendra Patil.

Ten different sports will be able to be played in the stadium both during the day and at night. Practice sessions will also be held in the stadium. Facilities for playing handball, table tennis, basketball, and gym.

Important sports figures will be painted in murals throughout the stadium. A press release from the university states that it will have a parking lot, administrative offices, a conference room, a meeting hall, and a café. The area behind Subhedar Hall has been designated for stadium construction.
