RTMNU's conducts a gender awareness program

Gender sensitization is one way to promote equality, which will guarantee a developed society. In the male-dominated society, it is a challenging endeavor, according to Nagpur Family Court lawyer Adv Rekha Barhate.
Speaking during an awareness session, Adv. Barhate was invited by the RTM Nagpur University Centenary Year Celebration Committee, the university's National Service Scheme, and the Anti-sexual Exploitation Committee. Dr. Subhash Chaudhari, the VC, was seated. Social worker Madhuri Sakulkar, pro-VC Dr. Sanjay Dudhe, dean of the inter-disciplinary faculty, Dr. Prashant Kadu, director of NSS Dr. Sopandev Pise, and head of the anti-sexual exploitation committee, Dr. Shalini Lihitkar, were in attendance.
According to Advocate Barhate, if we start thinking and talking about this issue in our own families, we can bring about the necessary change. She described the disparate treatment of boys and girls in families by using a number of examples. Women will need to transform who they are. The Constitution guarantees them equal rights.
Sakulkar provided information regarding the law that forbids sexual exploitation at employment. The relevant legislation was created, and all workplaces were required to set up a committee to deal with these types of complaints. The first significant case was documented in 1992. The Vishakha Committee was established in 1997, and in 2013 the legislation was passed. According to her, women had to wait 21 years for legislation prohibiting their exploitation to pass.
The law requires a decision to be made within 90 days of receiving a complaint and action to be taken within 60 days. She urged women who had experienced workplace harassment to come out and file reports. Dr. Dudhe spoke to the group as well. Dr. Lihitkar gave a greeting speech. Dr. Amruta Indurkar led the discussion. A vote of thanks was proposed by Dr. Pise.
