Sadar Police Bust Fake Job Racket; Involvement of WCL Employee Suspected

Nagpur, Thursday: In a major breakthrough, the Sadar Police have uncovered a fraudulent job racket, filing charges of cheating and forgery against several individuals, including the brother of an Assistant Police Inspector (API). The scam, which has swindled numerous victims out of lakhs of rupees, may also involve an employee of Western Coalfields Limited (WCL) and a school principal.

The key suspect, Amit Shimuwar (40), a resident of Tailor Line, Chhaoni, is accused of defrauding multiple job seekers since 2017. Despite initial reluctance from the police to file a First Information Report (FIR), the case came to light after Nirmal Hemraj Didhani (31), a victim from Sindhi Camp, Guru Nanak Nagar, Paratwada, district Amravati, approached a senior police official with his story.

Didhani revealed that Shimuwar had extracted Rs 12 lakh from him over time, promising a government job in return. To gain Didhani's trust, Shimuwar even provided a counterfeit joining letter from Coal India Limited. When Didhani realized the deception, he demanded his money back. Shimuwar, fearing legal consequences, returned Rs 10.50 lakh but refused to refund the remaining Rs 1.50 lakh.

Following Didhani's complaint, the senior official instructed the Sadar Police to register the FIR. Subsequently, a case of cheating and forgery was lodged against Shimuwar and his accomplices. Investigations are ongoing to uncover the full extent of the racket and the involvement of other suspects.
