Nagpur witnessed an impressive display of talent as Savli Barbunje, Pooja Channe, and Dhairya Kothi secured their spots in the semi-finals of the Maharashtra State Boxing Championship. The tournament, organized by the District Amateur Boxing Association, took place at Nagpur University's Subedar Hall in Ravi Nagar.

In the girls' category, Savli Barbunje displayed her prowess in the 46-49 kg weight category by defeating OV Pavle from Pune with a dominant 5-0 victory, securing her place in the semi-finals. Pooja Channe showcased her skills in the 49-52 kg weight category, triumphing over Sakshi Wadkar from the Thane district with a convincing 5-0 win to reach the last four.

Other notable performances among the girls included Gunjan Bante of Gadchiroli district, who outperformed Tanhvi Sarasar from Dhule district with a resounding 5-0 win in the 35-37 kg weight category. Riya Chavan from Akola defeated Vanshika Dhotre of Amravati district, and Ojswi Dhande from Akola bested Srishti Ghadge from Satara in the 37-40 kg weight group, earning their places in the semi-finals.

In the boys' category, Dhairya Kothi of Nagpur district secured a hard-fought victory against Yash Meshram of Akola with a narrow 3-2 scoreline in the 35-37 kg weight category, advancing to the semi-finals. In the 46-49 kg weight category, Malhar Sable of Nagpur district displayed exceptional skills by defeating Shafig Shaikh from Pune with a dominating 5-0 win, securing his spot in the semis.

However, Saksham Patil from Nagpur district faced a tough challenge in the 37-40 kg weight group and had to accept defeat, conceding victory to his opponent.

The competition showcased the immense talent and determination of young boxers from various districts of Maharashtra, promising thrilling semi-final matches in the coming days.
