Scorpion bite in Air India flight

During the trip from Nagpur to Mumbai, an Air India passenger was bitten by a scorpion. "There was an extremely rare and unfortunate incident involving a scorpion biting a passenger on board our flight AI 630 on April 23, 2023," said Air India in response to the event. After the plane arrived, the female passenger was removed right away for medical attention and quickly admitted to the hospital.
"The mentioned passenger was seen by the airport physician after landing, was treated at the hospital, and was then released. Our staff members accompanied the patient to the hospital and provided all assistance necessary until discharge."
The engineering team at Air India thoroughly inspected the aircraft after learning of the occurrence. "Our team followed the protocol and conducted complete inspection of the aircraft and found the scorpion after which due fumigation process was carried out," said the team. "We deeply regret the passenger's suffering and inconvenience," said Air India.
While live birds and rats are sometimes found on board, being bitten by a scorpion while travelling on an Air India flight is currently extremely rare.
