Security Concerns Rise as CM Fadnavis Gets Bomb Threat from Pakistani Number

Mumbai, India:  Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis has received a bomb threat from a Pakistani phone number. The threat was sent as a WhatsApp message to Mumbai Traffic Police on Friday. Mumbai Police has initiated the investigation, strong security has been implemented near CM residence.

Mumbai Police said the sender introduced himself as Malik Shahbaz Humayun Raza and warned of an attack on the Chief Minister. After receiving the alert, Worli Police registered a case and started tracking the sender to check if the threat is real.

This comes just days after Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Eknath Shinde also received a death threat on 21st February. Shinde said he is not worried, as he has faced similar threats before, including from Naxalites and during action against dance bars.

Recently, Mumbai Police arrested two people from Buldhana for sending an email threatening to bomb Shinde’s car. With multiple threats to top leaders, police have increased security and are keeping a close watch.

The investigation into the threat against CM Fadnavis is still ongoing.
