Shah Rukh Khan's 'Jawan' Surpasses 'Pathaan' in Day 1 Advance Bookings, Sells 200,000 Tickets Worth Rs 7 Crore
On the first day of advance booking for Shah Rukh Khan's upcoming film "Jawan," things are looking really good. The movie is set to release on September 7, and it seems people are eager to watch it. In less than 24 hours, "Jawan" has sold over two lakh tickets, earning around Rs 7 crore in ticket sales.
The Hindi version of the film has already made about Rs 1.12 crores in the National Capital Region (NCR), and other cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Bengaluru have also contributed with ticket sales ranging from Rs 50 lakhs to Rs 65 lakhs.
However, the advance booking for the Tamil version of "Jawan" is a bit slower, with around 3,365 tickets sold, and the Telugu version has sold 1,097 tickets. To put this in perspective, "Jawan" is outpacing the advance ticket sales of Shah Rukh Khan's previous film, "Pathaan," which sold approximately 1,71,500 tickets during the same period before its release.
Trade analyst Girish Johar predicts that "Jawan" is on track to set a new record for advance ticket sales, with expectations of selling around 3 lakh tickets for its opening day within 24 hours.
"Jawan," directed by Atlee and produced by Red Chillies Entertainment, features an ensemble cast including Nayanthara and Vijay Sethupathi. Shah Rukh Khan expressed his excitement for the film at a pre-release event in Chennai, where he talked about his learning experience and his dancing skills in the movie.
After a successful comeback with "Pathaan" earlier this year, "Jawan" is generating high anticipation among fans and is poised for a massive opening when it hits the theaters.
