Sitabuldi Police Detain Five Individuals for Affray, Seize Revolver
In the early hours of Thursday, Sitabuldi Police apprehended five individuals, including three members of a family, following a disturbance at a public location. The incident, which occurred in front of Wellness Forever Medical Stores at Khare Town, Dharampeth, prompted swift action from law enforcement after receiving reports from the Control Room around 3 am.
The accused, identified as Manvir Harjit Saluja (22), Nimishka Harjit Saluja (20), and Gurpreet Harjit Saluja (53), all residents of Elegance Apartments, Raj Nagar, along with Areesh Aziz Khan (21) from Mangalwari Bazar, Sadar, and Avesh Ajmal Khan (26) from Prashant Nagar, were allegedly engaged in a confrontation when Sitabuldi Police, led by PSI Rahul Wanjari, intervened to defuse the situation.
Upon arrival, officers found the individuals embroiled in a dispute and promptly took them into custody. During the apprehension, a duplicate steel revolver, estimated to be worth Rs 5,000, was confiscated from Gurpreet Saluja.
Authorities have registered a case against the accused under Section 160 of the Indian Penal Code, in conjunction with Sections 3/25 of the Arms Act and 135 of the Maharashtra Police Act.
