Sitabuldi Shooting: Feud Over MD Smuggling Leads to Attempted Murder
Six individuals have been apprehended in connection with the Sitabuldi shooting, believed to be linked to an ongoing feud over the smuggling of MD (Methylenedioxymethamphetamine). The incident involved seven individuals, with Mrinal Gajbe (30) from Anand Nagar identified as the main suspect and Zainuluddin Qureshi (31) from Sadar as the injured party. The altercation stemmed from a longstanding dispute between Gajbe and Qureshi regarding MD smuggling profits.Qureshi's alleged threat to Gajbe, facilitated through criminal associate Nitin Gupta, escalated their rivalry, with suspicions arising that Gajbe was involved in large-scale MD trafficking. Following Gajbe's return from Madhya Pradesh, Qureshi reportedly demanded money, prompting Gajbe to cautiously engage with him.At 7:30 am, Qureshi, accompanied by Rahul 'Golu' Gondane and Sameer Dudhankar, visited Gajbe's residence for a discussion. However, the encounter quickly turned violent, leading to Gajbe firing a shot from a Mauser pistol, which fortunately hit a wall. During the scuffle, Gajbe allegedly shot Qureshi in the stomach, resulting in injuries.Upon reaching home, Qureshi was hospitalized by his family, and Sitabuldi police were informed of the incident around 10:30 am. Gajbe initially misled authorities, attributing Qureshi's injury to an accidental pistol discharge. However, after five hours of interrogation, Gajbe confessed to the shooting.A case of attempted murder has been filed, and Gajbe has been placed under arrest following his admission of guilt.
