Six-Month-Old Baby Kidnapped from Nagpur Railway Station
Nagpur, India- Another child has been kidnapped from Nagpur Railway Station. In the early hours of Thursday, a six-month-old baby was taken by a woman who was last seen boarding a MEMU train to Wardha.
The incident came to light when Umakant and Lalita Ingle, a middle-aged couple working as farm labourers, approached the Railway Protection Force (RPF) at Nagpur Station. They reported that their six-month-old child, Ram, had gone missing early in the morning. They mentioned a woman who had befriended them during their journey from Amravati and was also missing.
RPF personnel reviewed CCTV footage with the Ingle couple, identifying the woman boarding the MEMU train. Unfortunately, by then, it was too late to catch her.
The Ingle family, including their five-year-old and six-month-old sons, had boarded the Purna-Hatia Express to Nagpur, planning to continue to Gondia. While waiting at Nagpur Station, the woman who had befriended them claimed to be hungry. The Ingle family bought her snacks and then fell asleep on the platform.
In the morning, Lalita Ingle discovered her baby was missing. She and her husband searched for the woman, believing she might have taken the baby for a stroll. When they couldn't find her, they sought help from the RPF.
Both the RPF and Government Railway Police (GRP) have launched a search for the woman. This incident follows another kidnapping a month ago, where a child was taken from Nagpur Railway Station by two youths intending to sell the baby.
