"Srikanth Starring Rajkummar Rao Receives Positive Response

Rajkummar Rao's latest film, "Srikanth," hit theaters on Friday, sparking a favorable response from audiences nationwide. Reports indicate that the movie raked in over Rs 2 crore in India on its opening day.

According to a report by Sancilk.com, "Srikanth" amassed Rs 2.25 crore in India on Friday, boasting an overall occupancy rate of 12.14% in the Hindi market. Morning screenings saw an 11.56% occupancy, which surged to just over 16% during nighttime showings.

Directed by Tushar Hiranandani and produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, and Nidhi Parmar Hiranandani, "Srikanth" chronicles the remarkable journey of Srikanth Bolla, an industrialist who triumphed over adversity despite facing visual impairment.

Apart from Rajkummar Rao, the film features Jyothika, Alaya F, and Sharad Kelkar in pivotal roles. Alaya, in an exclusive interview with News18 Showsha, praised Rajkummar's dedication to his craft, describing him as deeply invested in his roles and a wonderful person to work with.

"Srikanth" has garnered predominantly positive reviews, with News18 Showsha awarding it 3.5 stars. While lauding Rajkummar Rao's performance, the review noted certain shortcomings in the screenplay and character development.

Looking ahead, Rajkummar Rao has a slew of projects lined up. He is set to star alongside Janhvi Kapoor in "Mr and Mrs Mahi," with the trailer slated for release on Sunday, May 12. The film, scheduled to hit theaters on May 31, marks their second collaboration following "Roohi."

Additionally, Rajkummar Rao will share the screen with Triptii Dimri in "Vicky Vidya Ka Woh Wala Video," slated for release on October 11, 2024.
