SSC Exam Paper Goes Viral on WhatsApp, Five Held in Bhandara
Bhandhara, Vidarbha: Lakhandur police have arrested the headmaster of Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya, Chichad, along with an assistant teacher and three others for leaking the SSC English exam paper on WhatsApp. The arrests took place on Saturday and Sunday night, according to Police Inspector Sachin Pawar.
The accused were taken to court, where JMFC Pooja Kokate sent them to police custody until March 4.
The incident happened on March 1, when the SSC English exam paper was leaked and quickly spread on WhatsApp just after the exam started. After receiving complaints, Lakhandur police started an investigation. They followed clues and first arrested Vishal Baburao Phule, the headmaster of Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya. Later, they arrested Assistant Teacher Deepak Dayaram Meshram (35) from Manegaon, along with Mayur Tembre, Rakesh Keshavrao Bisen, and Surendrakumar Sharad Patle from Gondia.
Inspector Pawar said the exam paper was leaked out of revenge. Every year, Mahatma Gandhi Vidyalaya was an exam centre, but this year, the centre was changed to Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Vidyalaya because a beer bar was located near the school. To take revenge and defame the new exam centre, the accused leaked the exam paper.
The police are continuing their investigation.
