ST Bus Fatally Strikes 9-Year-Old Boy and Injures Girl in Amravati
Amravati, India- In a tragic incident at Amravati District Central Bus Stop, a 9-year-old boy named Pritam Govind Nirmale was killed on the spot, and his 12-year-old cousin sister, Vaishnavi Sanjay Nirmale, sustained severe injuries after being hit by a recklessly driven city bus. The incident occurred near Science Core Ground on Sunday, where the siblings had arrived with their grandmother, Narmada Nirmale, to attend a religious program at Rukhmini Nagar.
According to reports, the children and their grandmother were walking when the bus (MH27/A-9952) lost control and struck Pritam and Vaishnavi. Pritam tragically died immediately from the impact, while Vaishnavi was rushed to District General Hospital with severe injuries.
The accident sparked anger among bystanders, prompting the bus driver, Ravindra Dahake, and conductor, Shekhar Ganre, to seek refuge at a nearby police outpost. Police, including Inspector Manohar Kotnake from City Kotwali Police Station, quickly arrived to control the situation.
Both the driver and conductor were taken into custody as investigations into the incident began. Meanwhile, Narmada Nirmale, devastated by her grandson's death, was also hospitalized due to shock.
Authorities are providing support to the grieving family while ensuring legal proceedings continue against those responsible for the tragic accident.
